Why we do what we do
The Grenee Dobbs Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission of helping our youth navigate life’s obstacles to achieve their potential and the vision of becoming a cornerstone of support and guidance for youth seeking advancement. The foundation was started after years of reflection on how to best honor the legacy of Grenee Dobbs, who we lost to Pancreatic Cancer on Mother’s Day 2018. For decades, Grenee had been a pillar in her church, family and community but only after her passing was the true impact that she realized. In the days preceding her funeral and for months after, community members reached out with countless stories of how she had positively impacted their lives. Whether she was lending money, offering free room and board or just providing a listening ear, Grenee always focused on how she could positively impact the lives of those around her. Seeking to do the same, we felt that we would best honor her legacy by creating a vehicle focused on continuing the work that she committed her life to.
